Reliance ISP blocked torrent sites

Written By WBlogger [TopKolkata.Com] on 03 May, 2012 | 8:57 PM |

It's a Reliance, now they have blocked The Piratebay , world's most resilient torrent site. From the beginning of this week Reliance ISP has blocked access of the Piratebay by putting the same notice as
"blocked by the instructions of DoT". Previously we have informed you that Reliance ISP is blocking occasionally several websites using the name of DoT [click here to read] now this time they have blocked the world's most popular torrent site.

We recently got news from the Piratebay that UK court ordered to block the website form all of their ISP's and so all of them did. But we did not hear any such notice from the DoT or court in India. So we are almost sure that this time also Reliance is using the name of DoT to fulfill some of their personal profits, cause we have seen that previously just to stop the piracy of Don 2 & Singham Reliance blocked several file sharing websites & torrent sites.
Now what will the downloaders do? Its simple they will just use a proxy or use any vpn or secure network to access the site. After repeat block & censors netizens are now well aware of the bypassing options and we're sure that they will do it accordingly.
Update : It is now learnt that Reliance not only blocked The Piratebay they also blocked some more torrent sites such as
