In Kolkata, Extreme Peering was first introduced by Alliance Broadband (Hope I'm correct). And it quickly became so popular that WishNet & PMPL followed the same path. WishNet retired too early after introducing but PMPL continued till April this year. May users while downloading files via P2P technology must have noticed a peer btcache/10.240.**.** appeared in their torrent client's peer list which was the sole powerhouse peer used to upload in a speed not less than 512kbps most times. And this is going on for Alliance Broadband. A tariff poster in their site show it all

Before introducing Extreme Peering people used to download at their normal internet plan speed such as 32KBps or 64Kbps (varies according to plan). And that time these speeds mentioned in the last sentence was hard to achieve cause overall all the peers in the network had same speed, resulting in delayed download & upload. Means that time a movie was supposed to be downloaded in 2-3 days (general practice). But now this 2-3 days is has become 5-10 minutes. Means earlier one have to wait for one download to finish & start again the next download. But now simultaneously too many files are being downloaded via P2P in half an hour or less. In general this means that Piracy Content moving logistics have become more swift. And more and more internet users now prefer watching a movie by downloading than watching them in a hall spending Rs. 50/60, or buying a original DvD or Cd spending Rs. 90 to Rs. 200.
Indian Production house & moreover Production houses of Kolkata are so lazy in this copyright issue. Recently we have seen that Shree Venkatesh Films sued Mp3Kolkata.com for removing their song links. But what after that? Everyone observed a single target for their copyrighted material whereas there are many other sites spreading their content. Even an older site Fundl.Org was also charged by the same production house in 2011. But when it comes to sue the movie sharing links all production houses of Kolkata lies in the same boat. They still couldn't take any remarkable action against any of the P2P sites for sharing their content illegally. They may excuse that the sites are operated from outside India so it is next to impossible for them to charge them. But did you ever thought that the ISP's, who are offering high speed for download can be sued by the Production houses & copyright holders?
How can they be sued?
If you have read our last article about btcache technology you have surely understood that all the material downloaded via P2P are kept in a large capacity server later from where the files are distributed at a high speed. But storing illegal content in your HDD is a criminal offence & moreover luring people to download & share illegal content a an ease is also under the same book. So in future if Alliance Broadband is sued for fueling illegal content share & storing then what can happen? Alliance Broadband may be forced to place logs of the IP addresses of their users who have downloaded or uploaded the infringed contents via their ISP. And if they finds you among the logged among the public then you will be facing a trial & a fine of huge amount. Are you ready for that?Storing or sharing copyrighted file is illegal & at the same context, helping people to share copyrighted contents is a illegal. So what do you think about BTCache technology? Are this a good implementation by the ISP's of Kolkata or not? Leave a comment & share this article with your friends so they can also post their opinions here.
