C: Good Evening I am XYZ[Name can not be quoted] calling from Airtel.
S: Hm.
C: Mam did you applied for a mobile number portability?
S: Yes, I applied just yesterday & received the Unique Porting Code.
C: But Maam why you want to switch your number to anyone else?
S: See, call tariff for Airtel is Rs.1/Minute whereas the normal call tariff for Docomo is Rs.0.01/second. And your call charge reduction tariff is way high from some other providers. So why should I pay more whereas I can pay much less without changing my number.
C: Who said you Maam that Docomo is giving normal tariff of Rs.0.01/Second. They are just offering a pack of a duration of 1year or less. No provider gives you a tariff like this for life without any promo packs.
S: What? Is it so? But as far as i know from Internet, mMbile Retailers, Tv Ads all saying that Tata Docomo's normal plan is Rs.0.01/second or you may say pay per second plan. Are all of them lying?
C: Maam there is no such plan I know. Ok Let us give you an offer. We will activate a tariff for you the tariff is 1p/2sec for any local number 1p/1sec for all STD for free. And this will valid for 6months. And your purpose for cheaper call rate is solved.
S: But temporarily. Ok that's not an problem if call rate is reduced I am ok with it.
C: Thank you Maam.[in the mean time I quickly flashed, I just imitated & whispered to Saheli to ask about the full tariff in details]
S: Oh excuse me. Can you please say the full details of the tariff you just wanted to give me.
C: (Voice seemed to be not so much interested as she was in the starting of the call) 1p/2sec for local calls & 1p/sec for std.
S: No charges at all for life?
C: First 10 days from activation it is free, from thereafter you will be charged Rs.1/day as an rental.
S: WHAT!!! You didn't say that before. I don't want this tariff I would love to switch to another provider.
C: So you don't want this good offer?
S: This offer is good for you not for me. Why should I pay Rs.1 per day.
C: So clearly say what do you want, to be with us or not.
S: Absolutely no.
C: There are no such 1p/sec plan in any network Mam.
S: There is.
C: There isn't Mam, everywhere you have to pay rentals.
S: No, you're wrong there is & i'd love to switch
C: Ok [Sounded like she thrashed the phone]
Now see Kolkata, this was the trick Airtel Customer Care is playing. They are not telling everything to their so called valuable customer. This is clearly a cheating I think. What do you say.
